The stem you put air through. We replace cracked or leaking stems — $20. Shop or roadside.
The valve stem is the small valve on the wheel you put air through. Rubber stems dry out, crack, and start a slow leak. They also snap when an old tire comes off the rim. We put a new stem on so the tire holds air. $20. It stays on the vehicle, so if we itemize it, Chicago sales tax applies.

- TPMS sensors We also service and replace tire-pressure sensors when the light is on or a sensor fails during a tire change. That’s a different part than a plain rubber stem — call the shop or check Prices if a sensor line is on your quote.
