Plug vs patch A plug fills a nail or screw hole in the tread so the tire holds air. First plug is $21; each extra plug on the same visit is $10. A patch is $31.50 — we work the puncture from the inside when that’s the better repair. Sidewall cuts, big holes, or a dry cracked casing usually need a replacement, not a plug.
